Bible API

The DuckPortfolio Bible API is a small ASP.NET Core Minimal API wrapper around the YouVersion Platform API. It provides local endpoints for passage retrieval, Bible metadata, available translations, and a curated starter list for app or Unity dropdowns.

Endpoint Surface

GET /health

Reports whether the API is running.

GET /api/passages

Gets a normalized passage response from YouVersion with format, headings, and notes options.

GET /api/verses

Compatibility alias for passage retrieval.

GET /api/bibles

Returns paginated Bible versions with language range, license, page size, field selection, and page token support.

GET /api/bibles/recommended

Returns a stable curated list including BSB, NASB2020, NIV11, WEBUS, and AMP.

GET /api/bibles/{bibleId}

Returns metadata for a specific YouVersion Bible ID.
